When you’re writing for the Web, you need a Web site so you can refer potential customers to examples of your writing. If you’re new to Web writing however, you may not have the funds for a domain name and Web hosting.
Not a problem. There are many free options, most of which allow you to set up a Web site in minutes.
Here are several I’ve used and recommend:
What’s not to like? Web publishing in an instant, and completely free.
Blogger’s another Google product. I’ve used Blogger since way before Google bought it in 2003. Great product, and EASY to use. Get a site in a minute or less. And if you’re thinking, “Yes, but a blog’s not a Web site!” shame on you. A blog is a Web site - it’s all the Web site you need to get started as a Web writer.
* Terapad’s free option
Terapad’s a new blogging service. I signed up for the free service a few months back, and then opted for the paid version (at a very low fee) within an hour of getting started. I LOVE Terapad. You get everything (site, shop, forum) in one very ritzy package. Here’s my Seven Days Copywriting site on Terapad.
There are many more free options.
