With everyone and his dog registering thousands of domain names, the time to register your name is NOW. If not sooner. Sadly, it may already be too late.
Of course, your “name” domain is just your own site, to get known as a Web writer.
For other projects, you’ll need to register a domain for each one.
I’ve got a habit of registering a domain for almost every project I create. Sooner or later each and every domain will come in useful, even if I never build anything on it, and just resell it in a few years.
