I’ve just written a post on my writing blog “Profit from eBay: turn old magazines and books into cash”, so I won’t repeat that information here, except to say that the post is about a clever new ebook “Make Money Tearing Up Old Books And Magazines And Selling Them On EBay”.

If you’re writing for the Web, you need to get familiar with eBay

I love eBay, and if I had the time, I’d do a lot more trading on the site, because it’s a way for anyone to learn the basics of business in an environment which works well. It’s a huge auction site, and it enables anyone anywhere, no matter how limited their resources, to do business online. You can be as poor as the proverbial church mouse, and get started earning money online on eBay. What you learn in six months of trading will stand you in good stead for life - you’re getting business experience, and you can’t put on price on the knowledge of what works.

So how do you make money writing on eBay? I could write an ebook, and I probably will, but in the meantime, here are some ideas.

* Get creative. Visit eBay Pulse every day. People sell items which are all flash - all creativity - so if you’re creatively inclined, and can write great auctions, you can make money without having very much to sell at all;

* Rewrite people’s ads for them. Some people are selling high-ticket items like cars using appalling ads. Offer to rewrite ads for some of these people, and charge a flat fee, or take a percentage of the profits;

* Write short reports and ebooks and sell them as digital downloads.

Your aim in your eBay trading isn’t to make a fortune, although you might, it’s to learn how the eBay environment works. The more you know about how to sell online, using words, the more you’ll be asked to write for others, AND the more you’ll get ideas on how you can use your writing and make a brilliant online income.
