However, to achieve that constant flow of free organic traffic, a Web site needs content. Many sites publish articles in their areas of interest, aiming to attract traffic. The more articles and other content a site has, the more traffic it will attract. This traffic translates into money for the site.

Since content is so highly valued, sites are prepared to pay for it. Some big business sites are prepared to pay extremely well, because unlike advertising, which disappears unless you keep paying, articles are paid for just once, and will keep on drawing traffic to a site for years.

Once you’ve created a site, and got traffic to the site - by writing articles - you can sell advertising on your site. Even a modest amount of traffic can become lucrative, if your site is in a niche area, and if your advertisers get good results from advertising with you.
* Sites need many different types of article content
You can supply many different types of article content. An online store needs articles about its products, as well as comparisons and reviews, for example.
If writing Web articles appeals to you, you can get started creating content right away for sites which advertise for writers. Most of these sites don’t pay well, but using these sites, and writing some content for them, gives you experience in writing articles.
