Let’s look at some reasons writing simple Web articles can translate into a full time income for you, even if you have little or no experience as a Web writer.

* Every Web site needs content - it’s a must to attract traffic

With millions of businesses online, all those businesses want to attract Web traffic. A primary source of that traffic is what’s known as “organic” traffic, that is, traffic which arrives at a business’s Web site completely free, courtesy of the Web search engines.

However, to achieve that constant flow of free organic traffic, a Web site needs content. Many sites publish articles in their areas of interest, aiming to attract traffic. The more articles and other content a site has, the more traffic it will attract. This traffic translates into money for the site.

Many people are supplying that content, and you can too.

* Sites pay for content - some pay at rates of a dollar a word

Since content is so highly valued, sites are prepared to pay for it. Some big business sites are prepared to pay extremely well, because unlike advertising, which disappears unless you keep paying, articles are paid for just once, and will keep on drawing traffic to a site for years.

Once you’ve created a site, and got traffic to the site - by writing articles - you can sell advertising on your site. Even a modest amount of traffic can become lucrative, if your site is in a niche area, and if your advertisers get good results from advertising with you.

* Sites need many different types of article content

You can supply many different types of article content. An online store needs articles about its products, as well as comparisons and reviews, for example.

If writing Web articles appeals to you, you can get started creating content right away for sites which advertise for writers. Most of these sites don’t pay well, but using these sites, and writing some content for them, gives you experience in writing articles.
