Web writing is booming. Anyone who can fill a Web page with words is making a very nice income.

However, there are a couple of downsides to all this happiness for writers. Whether you’re a new writer or an established pro, the ability to write articles is gold for any freelance writer. This is because information truly is king online, and every business needs a Web site that’s not only bulging with information, but which is also updated regularly with new information. Articles make up much of that avalanche of information.

That’s a lot of writing, and freelance writers do much of that writing as ghostwriters. “Ghostwriting” is writing for others, for pay, without getting a byline.

You ghostwrite articles either as Web site content, or for other people to put their names to, so that they can build their name online. Ghostwriting isn’t for you if you can’t write to order, or if you want your name on everything you write.

Ghostwriting Site Content Articles: You’re A Sought-After Content Maven

Web sites need content, to get traffic, and to convert that traffic into sales. As a Web content article ghostwriter, you write articles which draw traffic to a site. You’re usually give a list of “keywords” (the words which Web surfers type into search engines) which must be included in the articles you ghost.

There are several different levels of article ghostwriting, the first is writing articles as keyword content. There are several levels about this first one, in which articles are written both as keyword content, and to perform specific marketing functions.

Ghostwriting Articles For Others: Helping Your Clients To Build Their Name Online

Web site owners need to build their name online, but they often have neither the time nor the inclination to write articles, so article-writing is farmed out to ghostwriters.

Unlike straight article content, ghostwriting to build someone’s name means establishing their expertise in a particular area. Everyone wants to be an expert - fame translates to fortune online - and as a ghostwriter, you write articles which establish experts.

So there you have it - two ways in which you can achieve ghostwriting article success online.

Web writing: creating and selling your own products

When you’re new to writing and selling your own products online, it’s scary. I’ve been consulting with the purchasers of my “Beat Your Paycheck! Web Writing SECRETS” ebook (a 15-minute consult is included), and some are nervous.

If you’re doubting your ability to create content and sell it online, here are some reassuring tips:

* The bar for writing ability is very low online - most “writers” who produce PLR content and ebooks and sell them VERY profitably are not writers. They just want to make money online, and they do. Go to an articles directory like Ezine Articles and browse some of the articles. Feel more confident now? If you can write an article that offers good information, you’re golden;

* There is no “rejection” as such online. Any content you write will have eager buyers. Do some research. Type “PLR content” into Google;

* Content is in high demand because site owners’ income depends on it. This puts you in the nice position of being able to name your own price for your articles and other content - market it, and you will do extremely well;

* Getting started in any new venture is confusing. This is good, because it means that you’re learning. The world is changing fast, and what you learn today, will stand you in good stead for years to come. Writing for the Web is the future for all writers. Relax, take your time, write - and you’re set to make the income you want to make for yourself and your family.
