What if you’re new to Web writing? Eliminate doubt, make a SALE

This week I’ve received a lot of questions from newbie Web writers. I receive far too many questions each week to answer them all - if I did, I wouldn’t get anything else done. So here’s a general message on what to do if you’re new to Web writing.

Firstly, let’s discuss DOUBT.

All the questions I receive have DOUBT in common. The writer doubts whether he can make money writing.

As the old saying goes, whether you think you can, or you think you can’t, you’re right. No one can help you with your own doubt. If you want to discuss your situation in detail with me, then I’m happy to give you an appointment for a consultation, but ultimately your doubt is up to you - writing involves sitting on a chair getting a numb rear end for hours on end, so is this your idea of a good time? If it is, welcome to the world of writing.

In my Sell Your Writing Online NOW training, the first week helps the writer to make ONE sale of his writing by selling an article. There’s a strategy to this, and it involves DOUBT. When the writer makes one sale, it nukes doubt, and builds confidence.

After 30 years of writing, I know writers - I know how they think, and I know how to turn that thinking around. However, it’s all still up to YOU. I can’t get a numb rear end for you, after all. You’ll need to get your own writing war wounds.

So that’s what you need to do if you’re new to Web writing: GET A SALE. It doesn’t matter how tiny that sale is, because just knowing you can make money writing will boost your attitude. It all starts with that one sale.

There are many, many ways to make one Web writing sale. Sell an article. Sell your writing services. Write an ad for someone; write a white paper.

Just make that one sale.

Create and Sell Information - the Perfect Home Business

Want to make a great income from your own home based business? You can. Let’s look at some information products you can create and sell online.

Here are three types of information products. All are easy to create, and since you offer them via digital delivery, they’re easy to sell too.

1. Ebooks, e-courses, and classes - teach online

Just in the past couple of weeks, several friends have purchased online courses. They include an MP3 course to learn French, a course on learning Mac OS X Leopard, a series of classes in digital photography, and a drawing class.

There’s an immense range of ebooks, courses and classes online, for every conceivable interest. If you have knowledge and skill, you can teach what you know.

Start by making a list of topics you could teach, and then do some online research to see whether others are offering courses in these areas. If they are, that’s great - it means that people are buying this information, and you’ll be able to sell your information product too.

2. Audio products - MP3s and podcasts sell

Audio products are great sellers online, because you can listen to an MP3 when you’re driving and exercising, turning “wasted” time into productive time.

You can offer audio products in many areas. Some popular audio products aren’t teaching products, they’re stories and humor - of course, you can combine both information and entertainment in a single product. This would be a hot seller.

3. Video products - visual aids to learning

As technology has improved, videos have become enormously popular. Although many videos are free, you can create and sell your own commercial audio products. Teach or entertain on your video product - the choice is up to you.

Information products are fun to create and to sell, and they make the perfect home business. Why not start sharing your knowledge in information products?
