Writing ads for the Web: learn Pay Per Click

Writing Pay Per Click (PPC) advertising is a fundamental Web writing skill. However, your PPC ads don’t stand alone: they lead clickers to landing pages, which need to answer the clickers’ questions immediately.
“How to Write Ad Texts that Promise and Landing Pages that Deliver” asks:
In 70 characters or less, how can you answer their [the searchers’] question? The truth is, it may not be possible to fully answer their question and respond to the searcher’s needs.
You can’t answer their questions in 70 characters; that’s the job of your landing pages.
I write landing pages first, and then write the PPC ads which are to be used only with that particular page.
The pairing of landing page + specific PPC ads is vital, otherwise the advertiser is wasting money, getting too many clicks of unqualified prospects.
To learn the fundamentals of PPC, there’s no better way than the hands-on method - using your own money.
Develop your own PPC landing page and ads to sell something (even if it’s only an affiliate product), and experiment. With PPC, nothing beats your own hands-on experience.
Struggling To Find Writing Gigs?
Freelance writers just don’t realize how much money there is to be made by writing for the Web: many writers use the Web as a research tool, they don’t see the Web as a mass of millions of markets. They don’t realize that Web sites are STARVED for good writers.
Want to get paid REAL money to write? How does $150 and more an hour sound to you? Discover “Writing For The Web” and find out how you can increase your Web writing income.

Web writing: write to market your writing services
October 11th, 2007    Subscribe To Our FeedThis week I’ve been receiving emails about advertising your Web writing services and how you do it. Should you buy traffic?
No, you shouldn’t.
Read Spend Your Money on Intent, Not Traffic: “Remind yourself that traffic doesn’t mean diddly. Traffic can come from people who have been tricked into visiting your site, from people who have been paid to visit your site and even from computer programs that simply make it look like someone visited your site. A registered visit doesn’t mean a visit from someone who is looking to become a customer. “
You don’t want TRAFFIC, as such: you want to attract buyers for your Web writing services.
Here are some ways to attract buyers:
* Focus on your Web site. Add pages and content, so you can be found in the search engines;
* Discover SEO, and why the search engines are important. An understanding of SEO is vital for a Web writer, when you understand how the search engines work, you can offer Web writing AND SEO to your clients;
* Make contact with potential clients - use the outsourcing sites as a marketing venue. Bidding on projects gets your name out there;
* Use Craigslist and other free advertising services.
If you wish, you can buy links and advertising on Web sites. A $30 per month ad on a site can be a great investment.
Make great money writing for the Web - How does $150 an hour sound to you?

The secret to getting all the writing gigs you want, free
June 8th, 2007    Subscribe To Our FeedI’ve been sharing my writing gig-getting secrets with my writing students for years, but this nifty way of getting writing gigs and selling products deserves to be more widely known.
Here it is - Craigslist. Craiglist is completely free to use to get writing and editing gigs.
Since Craigslist is so easy to use, there’s not much to the process. However, using Craigslist effectively and getting the most out of it takes some knowhow.
I recently stumbled across the The Craigslist Profits Guide and knew I had to share it with you. It enables you to use Craigslist to its fullest potential. I’ve been using Craigslist for years, and many of the ideas were completely new to me.
It’s 41 pages packed with info, and here’s the best news: you can profit from this ebook when you sell it to others.
So go ahead - this ebook has to be one of the big bargains of 2007. Without hyping it too much, if you use the tactics described, you can double and triple what you make from your writing this year.
