Missed the first post in this series? Here it is.
When you’re developing a new blog, in addition to the focus of the blog, you need to choose two to three primary keywords for your blog.
What are keywords and why should you care?
Essentially they’re the words and phrases which Web surfers type into search engine query boxes to find you.
For example, for this blog, my primary keywords are “Web writer” and “Web writing”. I’ve included Web writer in the domain name (URL) for the blog, in the categories and tags, and often in the posts themselves. So over time, Fab Web writer’s pages will appear in the search query results pages (commonly known as SERPs) whenever someone types in “Web writer”.
Read my Blogging For Dollars ebook, and the ebook’s Blogging For Dollars Blog, to get up to speed on blogging.
Creating a blog is the fastest way to create a Web site, and also keep it fresh and updated. However, remember that to get traffic to your blog, choose your keywords - just two to three to start with - so that people can find you.
